Sticky Pineapple Rice

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 8 oz can crushed pineapple, with juices
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
GARNISH
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1-2 green onions, chopped
  • Optional: sesame seeds
PREPARATION
  1. In a small saucepan, add all the ingredients and stir together.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Cover and continue to simmer for 15-17 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, fluff, and top with lime juice and green onions.
