Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 cup chopped celery
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed tomato soup
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 hamburger buns, toasted if desired
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until evenly browned. Crumble it finely with a potato masher for best results.
- Cook Vegetables: Add celery and onion to the skillet, cover, and cook until they are tender, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
- Combine Ingredients: Stir in tomato soup, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and garlic powder.
- Simmer: Continue to cook over low heat, allowing the mixture to simmer. Stir frequently to ensure the sauce does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
