Recipe Title: Christmas Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red and green candy-coated chocolates
  • Red and green sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels using your preferred method (air-popped or stovetop) and place the popped popcorn in a large bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels to avoid biting into them later.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, corn syrup, and salt until combined.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, stop stirring and allow it to cook for 4 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract. The mixture will bubble up slightly.
  5. Immediately pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and stir well to coat all the popcorn evenly.
  6. Spread the coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. While the popcorn is still warm, sprinkle red and green candy-coated chocolates and festive sprinkles over the top.
  8. Allow the popcorn to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
  9. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Christmas Popcorn is the ultimate holiday snack that adds a touch of festive spirit to any gathering.
